Just call me Project Manager...

I have been busy with a different sort of creative bent lately...renovating a little bedsit flat I have in Subiaco.  The tenant moved out after 5 years and it was just too shabby to put anyone else into.  So the demolition and gutting began with gusto. Then the fun of designing a kitchen, selecting new floor and window coverings.  It has been an interesting experience so far.  I still have a ways to go with painters to choose, 2 doors to be fitted, the blinds hung, a new bathroom cupboard installed, but I'm getting there slowly. I have been Project Manager!  I've dreamed of being a decorator and now I get a chance to see if it I like it. I did the physical smashing out of the old fittings.  But I'm doing very little else hands on, purely supervisory these days.

I've gone very neutral for a clean fresh look that hopefully won't date and will look very enticing and appealing to potential tenants!  I need it to rent quickly.  This has been a serious drain on resources when I least expected it. The bank loan I got has been exhausted with unaccounted for costs.  Just when I thought I was in the clear after school fees...but I see that as fortuitous timing at least I don't have to renovate AND pay school fees.  It's amazing how things work out isn't it? The Perth rental market is HOT right now too, so I will see a positive return on my investment.  It's all good and I'm a lucky girl to have it.  Believe me I have clung on to this investment through some dark dark times.

Apologies to readers of my blog who come here to read about my craft projects.  I'm afraid my life lately has meant that I can't spend as much time on them as I would like.  Even blogging has had to take a back seat.  I do appreciate visitors to my little blog of randomness.  Thank you for stopping by.

My next project is a quilt for my godson's wedding in July.  I really must start cutting it!  I want to hand deliver it when I go to the wedding in Scotland.  Yes I'm heading to the UK for 3 weeks in July...how good is that!!  And Hong Kong for work in April.  What a year lies ahead.....lucky, lucky me.
